Dr. Sonam Chahal B.Sc., D.C.
Dr. Sonam Chahal has completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and a Masters in Biological Science, both from the University of Alberta. She completed her chiropractic education at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario. She then went to complete her certification through CCMI for complete concussion management and the management of post-concussion syndrome. In 2020, she became the sole owner and operator of MacAskill Chiropractic.
Dr. Chahal was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and is a avid Edmonton Oilers fan.
Dr. Chahal completed her training at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, where she provided Chiropractic care on a multidisciplinary family health team. In addition to this, Dr. Chahal has volunteered at the University of Alberta Hospital in Hemodialysis and Pediatrics Surgery. She is also the founder of HighGrade Tutorial Services, a tutoring company based in Toronto, and will have her first book published in 2021.
Dr. David MacAskill B.Sc., D.C.
Dr. MacAskill was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He received his Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 1985.
He continued his studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he received his doctorate with both clinical and academic honours in 1989.
Dr. MacAskill opened Rossland Chiropractic Associates in 1989 which was renamed after a large office expansion in 2005 as Optimal Life Chiropractic. Dr. MacAskill has previously served on Boards of the Ontario Chiropractic Association, Durham Region Fitness Council, Durham Region Chiropractic Society, Whitby General Hospital, and School Community Council of Sinclair and Donald A. Wilson Secondary Schools.
Dr. MacAskill has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise since 1990 and served as Club President in 2001/2002. In 2012 Dr. MacAskill was instrumental in the design and installation of the Rotary Outdoor Gym located at Heydenshore Park. This along with numerous years of dedication to community service, earned him international distinction as a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Dr. MacAskill sponsors and has coached several minor league sports teams in the Durham Region where he also resides with his family. Dr. MacAskill regularly speaks to clubs, organizations and companies on one of his greatest passions in life, “A Healthier Life through Chiropractic Care.”
Late in 2014, Dr. MacAskill realized his vision was to expand services offered in his current practice and decided it was time to move to a location that not only allowed room to grow but to continue his journey and spread the word about chiropractic care. In April, 2015, MacAskill Chiropractic and Wellness Centre opened!
